Afrikaans:
Hier, Nollie. (Hy gee Nollie se dop aan.) Vat so. Ons drink op hierdie klein toornaar! (En weer tot Willem.) Doen dit weer, ek sien.
2) KATRIEN: Maar stadig hierdie keer.
Stadig nou.
6) EMMA: Hy moet eers weer leer praat. Koffie, iemand?
English
1) HENDRIK (very pleased, to Willem): Where do you learn the stuff? Do you learn that at school or what? (Willem shakes his head.) Here, Nollie. (He hands over Nollie's drink.) Take it that way. We drink on this little wizard! (And again to Willem.) Do it again, I see.
2) KATRIEN: But slowly this time. We want to see how you do it.
3) (Willem takes a coin out of his pocket, puts it on his handkerchief and ties it up. Everyone looks. Also Emma, who has meanwhile come out with a tray of coffee.) Slow down now. We want to see well.
4) Willem spins the handkerchief around a few times. Then he unbuttons it. The coin is gone. Everyone bursts out laughing and making a fuss.
5) HENDRIK: This child, I tell you, his head is not flat. He is still going to be president.
6) EMMA: He must first learn to speak again. Coffee, anyone?
7) KATRIEN: Emma, leave it.
8) HENDRIK (to Emma): Talk, he will still talk. Just wait. Instead you prefer to learn to [kiss etc]. Ask Nollie. He will teach you.
9) Emma, pouring the coffee, looked up at her father. She drops the coffee pot on the tray and storms off the porch.
